Hop products

Extraction from hop umbels is the oldest process in hop refining. The contents were basically extracted with the help of water or steam.

The current, highly developed extraction process using ethanol or carbon dioxide serves to conserve the natural, pure hop product and integrate its use into the functional schedule of a modern brewery. Hop extracts enable a clean, uncomplicated analysis, can be easily bottled, transported and stored. In addition, there is the further advantage of more efficient use of the bitters, minimum need for storage space, the possibility to standardise to a defined bitters content and the absence of suspended hop fragments during brewing.
